Waiting Out The Storm

Since the day I left Luc, I have been fighting for survival – physical and emotional survival.  Sadly, my son didn’t survive the fight.  I was not able to protect him no matter how much time, money, and emotional energy I spent.    These past two years have been a nightmare to live through.  For many who are reading this post, you understand all too well the trauma of Family Court.  While most will not lose their child to a senseless and pre-meditated murder, they will lose a sense of themselves in that courtroom that they might spend the better part of their lives trying to recover. Others, will be forced to watch the emotional death of their child as the war rages onward.  To all those still in the war, I hope that my story will continue to give you the strength to fight – even on the toughest of days.  The days when you have run out of money – days when you are crying on the bathroom floor – and days when you wonder if you will ever see your child again.

I write to you all of you to thank you for your support.  For those of you who have been following me from the first post, those of you who have just discovered my story, and those who will continue with me on this journey for justice and fight for reform.

A reporter recently attempted to get me to comment on what seemed to be turning into a “pissing contest” with Luc in the media.  This reporter flippantly referred to the death of my son, from a “crude journalists worldview”, as a “great story”.  Reading the murder of my son referred to in this way made me to want to vomit all over my computer screen.  In light of this “crude worldview”, I have decided to take a break from blogging until the end of the trial.

(Note:  The majority of media I have spoken with have been extremely sensitive and supportive.  The above refers to a select few, and not the majority I have encountered.  For those who have reported on this case with respect for my son and his life, I thank you.)

I am no longer in any legal war with Luc.  It is not my job nor is it my place to respond to every inane defense that Luc’s lawyer attempts to throw at the wall during this process.  As is the case in any criminal case, the State brings criminal charges against the individual.  This current situation that Luc finds himself in is of his own doing.  The charges, the trial, and the eventual conviction are all things the State will pursue.  Of course, because my son was the child murdered, I clearly have a strong desire to see that justice is served.  That being said, this case is The Commonwealth vs. Rams – Not McLeod vs. Rams as it was when I still had a son whom I was trying to protect.

I am not abandoning the blog, nor will I stop writing.  I am simply taking a break to force a shift in focus here.  I don’t have any special insight into what the State is planning on presenting.  In fact, I have purposely tried to stay away from the gruesome medical evidence surrounding my son’s murder.  I hope that the media will focus on the facts, and watch as the case unfolds to the public through the trial.

In the meantime, I will keep engaging in meaningful dialogue surrounding child safety, domestic violence, and family court on my Facebook site:  https://www.facebook.com/cappuccinomama

Stay strong folks and please pray for me and my family through this process of waiting for justice for my son.  Prince was an angel.  I have said time and time again – that child saved my life and without a doubt the lives of many whom he will never even meet.  May you rest in peace my little boy.

Thank you for your support and understanding through this difficult time.

    Bless you, CQ. Please know you remain in my prayers, as does Prince and my plea for justice for what was done to your family. {{{hugs}}}

May you find some Peace and Comfort in this time as you await justice to be served. We had the joy of spending time with Prince on Sunday mornings for his short time here, but he had such a special smile and way that we all still feel him with us on Sunday mornings even now that he is sitting in the arms of our Lord, in His Heavenly Home.

Hera, know that you are and always will be a wonderful person, but most especially a great Mama to Prince. He is with you always until you are together in each others arms again!

Many prayers, thoughts, hugs and love from your friends at the CEC Nursery.

Oh, Hera. I’m so sorry about what that reporter said, and that you won’t be blogging anymore, but I understand. I find myself sitting here crying because I’ll miss you. I know that sounds crazy because we don’t even know each other, but I feel like I know you because I can relate to so much of what you have shared here. No one in my life truly understands. Only those of us who’ve walked the treacherous and tragic path of relationship fraud and abuse at the hands of a sociopath can understand the hell we’ve lived. I was fortunate that my children survived, but still, I and my children live with some very tragic consequences of my entanglement with a sociopath. My deepest hope and prayer is that somehow what I’ve been through will spare someone else the same fate one day. Yes, Prince will save many lives. Bless his precious soul. And God bless you Hera. May the Lord draw you near to Him.

Don’t worry Christine, I will be back. Just taking a little break.

Oh, good. That picture of Prince in the WP article today is just adorable. Poor, sweet baby.

Christine, that picture actually bothers me. Luc took Prince to get professional pictures during the first visit. It all seems so staged now that he is launching his own media campaign. So yes, Prince is adorable….always…but the motive that I know was behind the picture sort of makes me sick.

I have pictures of my ex with my kids that literally make me sick to my stomach, so I know what you mean. That WP article is awfully slanted. I guess I should not be surprised. Waiting out the storm with you…

    Hera,

Selfishly, I am disappointed that you have decided to stop blogging. You are a strong, clear voice with a story that should be told.

The case of the Commonwealth against Luc is not your fight, but you and Prince are the victims. I respect your decision to remain silent during the trial, although, I think your voice still needs to be heard and would only continue to keep the spotlight on Prince. Its a tough decision because remaining silent about the trial will take some pressure of the Courts to take action, but speaking out may somehow jeopardize the case. Judges do not need any additional reasons to make stupid decisions.

I have no idea what the evidence against Luc may be or what the prosecutor can prove, but I have a very strong suspicion that Luc will be found guilty of something, that will put him jail for a long time. They will make an example out of him to hide the fact that Judge Algeo and Dr. Wong failed to protect Prince.

I hope you continue to speak out for the victims when you come back. Your strength and courage through this whole ordeal has been so helpful to me. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

    Kindest Regards

To the fullest of my abilities, I understand and support your decision to step back, and take a break at this time. Your Sweet little Prince must be so very proud of you.

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God” Sometimes; people just need some silence; some peace….sometime to “Be still and know….” Praying for you and all your family Hera!
